A Look Back - 2007

At the beginning of 2007 I had a premonition – it would be a year of change. Now some might say that could be a self-fulfilling prophecy, but it was certainly that. I am writing this as I travel back across the Atlantic to my new home in England thinking about the music that seduced me in the last year. I don’t know what 2008 will bring. Right now I’m in a very contemplative state.

In terms of albums, the Amy Winhouse record probably grew on me more than any. I started out the year being pretty suspect of it, but now from start to finish, I love it. Of course, as I have said here before, Spoon’s Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga was my favourite record of 2007. As for singles, here’s a list. Note, I hate myself for liking some of these. --J
